Wanted to explore Minneapolis and this hotel was suitable place for doing it. The deluxe room had everything you need, a private safe, a coffee maker and ironing facilities. Thank you for the stay - would love to come back here some time
We appreciated our time here. By and large, it was nice base for sightseeing in Minneapolis, had much fun.
Comfortable bed, no complaints whatsoever. Free WiFi and easy check in. The hotel is in the theatre district...
We were put on pilot level which didn't feel welcoming. Room, size atmosphere didn't match pictures on website. I felt we paid for location only.
Staff was super friendly and accomodating.
There were old holes in the bathroom wall from some previously hung hardware.
The bed was very comfortable.
No GF options for breakfast except toast and granola. Would have liked a muffin or some other GF pastry.
Great location downtown, clean and super friendly staff.
I liked that staff were nice enough to switch us to a better accommodating room (two beds instead of one. The hotel gave the impression (online) that our King Room was more of a suite (with a sofabed, lots of space, etc). I did like that there were quite a few really inviting / good restaurants within walking distance (1-4 blocks away). Being in the heart of downtown, there are high-rise buildings everywhere. Quite impressive night time views from a high floor room. Go to the Hen House for breakfast. WOW! It's only about a block or two away (114 S. 8th St). Also, the Newsroom is a great eatery. A little more expensive but great food! It's also w/in walking distance (right by Nicolette Mall). There are a ton of great eateries in the area such as Hell's Kitchen, etc.
This was the Crowne Plaza. The name itself gives the impression of upscale. It was not. No in-room pay-per -view movies, the room was very small & so was the bathroom. There was no open restaurant that I could see. There was a small mall area connected to the hotel, but all the food establishments were closed. Keep in mind that Parking is $23 per day (public parking connected to the hotel building). Unless you can persuade a manager to comp it out to you, this will be an additional fee. There were only 1-2 staff available at the front desk. They are also whom you speak with if there are issues in your room. I had to wait for 10 min. on hold. When I gave up and called back I was asked to hold again. I know they were busy checking in guests but they should be better staffed. Staff were very nice, however, as they should be. If you want to be right next to an interstate entrance / exit, this is not the place for you. It is right in the downtown area.
I got a good price online for a Thursday night stay. The location is great for doing things downtown. Parking wasn't free but it was easy to deal with. Room was clean. WiFi was fast and reliable (and included, which I was looking for).
The room was comfortable and clean, but some of the sheen had started to wear off. Even downtown, I think it's strange to have to pay for parking at your hotel.
Location was excellent and pleasant staff
No fridge in room and ice machine only on seventh floor.. Twin beds instead of queens
Location down town was very convenient for walking to bars and food.
Hotel was out dated and over priced, then on top of all that you had to pay more for parking!! Found that out after booking...
Staff at the front desk was not friendly at all.
You guys didn't give the hotel the confirmation number therefore, we couldn't get in the room. The front desk person, finally talked to the manger and we could get in the room after 15 - 20 min. of wait. They said it's Booking. com's issue.
Never got wake up calls, when I brought down the sign in my room saying there would be no charge for that night, the desk people said they could not do that because the reservation was prepaid. The room was dirty, carpet frayed, noisy people in hallway, scary people making out in the elevator, no coffee or anything to eat except at the dumpy food court. Never again.
We thought we were getting a great hotel. The price was quite high so we assumed we would be comfortable . It was so loud. The front desk couldn't do anything. We had a 2:00 am party next door both Friday and Saturday evenings. The noise was awful! We called but nothing was done. We had a room for 3 and the only room available at check in at 3:00 pm was a handicap room. The shower was awful. We went for our daughter's college graduation and we were sooo disappointed with Crowne Plaza. Never again!!!!
A tried-and-true hotel delivering consistent quality and service to the Minneapolis hotel market. Big flat screen TV. Updated and well cared for guest room, especially considering the hotel was originally built in the 1960's.
After having flown for 18-hours and arriving at 2 AM, I was exhausted and undergoing a 9-hour time change. I was not made aware there would be entertainment in the hotel's roof top shy garden that morning. The noise echoed between the buildings and since my room overlooked the sky garden, it was impossible to sleep-in.
